We had a great first week of outdoor track last week. And the best part was... we were able to get outside! The track is 95% clear due to all of your efforts shoveling, and we've already been able to get in a few good workouts. Fingers crossed that this beautiful weather continues. Abnormal Practice Times: On Monday, we will divide up practice times due to teacher meetings.

We would really love to continue holding team dinners because they are phenomenal for team bonding and getting a good, high-carb meal in before a race. Boosters Meeting this week - Wednesday 1/16 @ 7pm Please join us for a Boosters meeting this Wednesday 1/16 at 7:00pm in my room, 108 at the high school. I hope everyone has been having a relaxing break and enjoying time with friends and family. As a team, we have had a few great practices and got in some great work at Bowdoin this past Thursday! This week's overview will be brief because I will be emailing again mid-week with details about our first meet - this Friday at 3:30pm. This Week's Meet: Our first meet will be held this week at USM. Directions are here. The meet will start at 3:30, which means our track team needs to leave a bit early from school at 2:15pm. More details including order of events, who is running what, etc to come mid-week! Athlete Event Choices: Athletes, please use THIS FORM to let me know your event choices ASAP. I hope you are all having a good start to the break with your families! As I said on the bus, we do not have practice until next Thursday. I am hopeful you can take the time to rest up and relax! That said, I don't want you to sit on the couch all week! It is very important that we do not lose fitness before our first meet, January 4th. Attached are the workouts I would like you to try on your own (OYO) for the next week. These are easy to do without a weight room, etc. Feel free to email if you have any questions about how to modify, etc.
Vacation Practice Schedule: Please email me with your availability for these four practices. Athletes are expected to attend practice over vacation to the best of their ability, and are only excused if they communicate ahead of time and are not in Yarmouth on the days of practice. Athletes should note that significant improvement takes place over winter break, and that a failure to come to practice will be detrimental to that athlete's improvement. Athletes who attend all four practices will receive a special prize!

Crazy to think that we are already into our fourth week of Indoor Track! We only have 4 days of practice this week due to vacation, and it's looking to be a packed week with lots of fun things going on. Please see below for this week's announcements. This Week's Workouts
TWO practices at an indoor track! The track team will be heading to Bowdoin this week on Tuesday & Thursday for some indoor track time. We will leave via bus at 5:00pm from the back of the high school, and will return around 8:00pm both nights. Team Holiday Party - Coach Jen will be hosting a holiday party for our athletes at her house, 55 Hickory Lane, on Wednesday, December 20th at 5:30pm. We will have a taco bar and cookie decorating! Please feel free to bring treats if you like. Please RSVP at this link. Boosters - We will be holding our first Boosters meeting on Thursday, December 21st at 4:00pm in my classroom, room 108.
